“Chinese Government Scholarship – Cooperative Program with Its Provinces and Autonomous Regions” is a full scholarship set up by the Ministry of Education aiming to support scholarships for international students established by local education departments in specific provinces or autonomous regions.
Fujian University of Technology begins to accept applications for full-time Master degree studies under “Chinese Government Scholarship – Cooperative Program with Its Provinces and Autonomous Regions” for the school year 2014~2015. The details are as follows:
Category, Duration, Language of Instruction
Category: Scholarship covers two to three years of studies toward master degree of engineering.
Program: Traffic and Transportation Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, and Civil Engineering in graduate studies.
Language of Instruction: The programs in Chinese universities can be instructed either in Chinese or in English. Scholarship recipients of Chinese-taught programs without adequate Chinese proficiency must take Chinese language training courses for one year so as to fulfill the language requirements of their host universities prior to majoring in their specialty.
Duration of the Scholarship: The duration of the scholarship will be limited to the student’s admission to the university, and will not be extended in principle.
Scholarship winners after entrance into China will be managed according to the relevant regulations of Chinese Government.
Students are not permitted, in general, to apply to change their specialties, their host universities or the duration of study as specified in the Admission Letter once they agree to accept the scholarship.
Application Receiving Agency and Deadline
Applicants should apply for the scholarship to the International Exchange Office of Fujian University of Technology before April 10, 2014.
Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and in good health.
- Applicants must NOT be already-registered students in Chinese universities at the time of application or graduates from Chinese universities whose graduation is less than one year ago.
- Applicants for master's degree studies must have bachelor's degrees and be under the age of 35.
- Applicants should not be beneficiaries of any other scholarships.
- Applicants should have a competitive academic record.
Scholarship Coverage
- Exempt from registration fee, tuition fee, fee for laboratory experiment, fee for internship, fee for basic learning materials and on-campus accommodation fee.
- Monthly living allowance.
- One-off settlement subsidy after registration for new arrival students
- Fees for outpatient medical services, Accidental Injury and Hospitalization Medical Treatment Insurance.
Application Documents (in duplicate)
- Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship(in Chinese or in English)
- Applicants shall fill in and submit application forms via the CSC Online Application System for Study in China.
- The online application system can be found at http://laihua.csc.edu.cn, and the institutional code of our university is 10388.
- Notarized highest diploma (photocopy): If applicants are university students or already employed, they should also provide documents proving that they have been university students. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
- Academic transcripts: Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.
- The personal statement includes a study plan or research proposal, family economic situation, reason of scholarship application, awards, personal specialties etc., with a minimum of 1500 words in English or 1500 characters in Chinese.
- Two letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors, in Chinese or English.
- Applicants must submit a photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English (the original copy should be kept by the applicant). The form designed by the Chinese quarantine authority can be downloaded from http://www.csc.edu.cn/laihua or http://www.campuschina.org). The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Please select the appropriate time to take physical examination as the result is valid for only 6 months.
- Applicants must provide the Academic Transcript of HSK issued by Chinese Hanban. Those without the basis of Chinese or under the HSK (Level V) should apply for learning Chinese for one year, and apply for scholarships during their Chinese language studies.
- Passport photocopy
No application documents will be returned whether the applicant is recruited or not. The scanned copy of the above documents should be sent to the mailbox fjutio@fjut.edu.cn and the paper application documents sent by post to the International Exchange Office of Fujian University of Technology before April 10, 2014 by the applicant him/herself.
Admission and Notification
- Application materials will be reviewed by China Scholarship Council (CSC) and be signed and issued Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW201)
- CSC will send, before the 31st of July, the List of Scholarship Winners, Admission Letter and Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW201) to the department in charge of enrollment, who will forward these documents to various universities in China, and then each university will inform the scholarship winners.
Enrollment
Students who have won scholarship must register on time based on admission notice and go through the Annual Review of the Chinese Government Scholarship Status.
