Succesful project presentation
The presentation of the project “Development of investigation and analysis techniques for the assessment and lifetime expectancy of historical structures” was held on December 9th, 2011. in hotel “Osijek”, Osijek, Croatia. Aim of the presentation was informing the public and target groups about the beginning of project implementation by project partners:
Josip Juraj Strossmayser University of Osijek, Faculty of Civil Engineering Osijek, and Pollack Mihály Faculty of Engineering, University of Pécs.
Program of the presentation:
Project presentation was opened with the welcome and introductory speech by honorable Prof.dr. Damir Markulak - Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Osijek. Next speaker was Prof.dr.sc. Ivica Guljas from Faculty of Civil Engineering Osijek, Department of technical mechanics and also a project coordinator. He presented the project and introduced the guests with its goals and expectations.
That was followed by several lectures:
Prof.dr. Zoltán Orbán, from University of Pécs, Pollack Mihály Faculty of Engineering and IT and project coordinator on Hungarian side.
Title of the lecture: Historical Masonry Arch Bridges – Construction history, today’s performance and preservation.
Bojan Milovanovic from University of Zagreb, Faculty of Civil Engineering at Department for materials.
Title of the lecture: Nondestructive testing in Historical Buildings.
Prof.dr. Vladimir Sigmund from Faculty of Civil Engineering Osijek and Department of technical mechanics.
Title of the lecture: Dynamic Properties and Response in Historical Structures.
Prof.dr. Ivanka Netinger from Faculty of Civil Engineering Osijek and Department of materials and structures.
Title of the lecture: Durability of Masonry Materials.
Numerous faculty workers, students, representatives of local and national agencies regarding the protection of architectural heritage, designers and architects responded to the call. The whole event was accompanied by the mediums.
